NEW! The 1930 Sedan with Mini and Flying Car with Mini Kits

 Good Friday Afternoon!  Hope all is well with you all!  

I've kept mentioning this car I've been making on social media and just now able to finally show you!  I love this 1930 Sedan Project!  The car was actually designed as the flying car.  The flying car came from the inspirational picture of a crazy fantastic advertising car from Goodrich Tire back in the late 20's.   Here's a picture I found on the internet...

When I made the car I thought some folks may just want the car so there are two versions.  The 1930's Sedan and the Flying Car... For each of the cars there is a fold back hood that holds a little accordion mini.  A great project for Father's Day and also a wonderful project to hold your travel memories.  This is not a hard project...Fun to make!  Hope you like this month's project...

New Projects! Shadow Box Frames, Pendant Lights and a cute little Birdcage Project

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Spring has Sprung here in Central Texas!  It's been a slow comeback from our sub-degree winter storm, but most things are coming back, budding and even flowering...So happy that the longer days with more light are back!  Speaking of light...I've been having fun making some pendent Lights lately.  I needed one over my little dining table so I though, why not make it.  That way I can customize it to my house and decor.  I also got busy and made a couple of shadow frames which were so fun to fill with my personal art.  Last, with spring fever hitting, I decided to make a cute little birdcage...So many cool ideas and things you can cage in it.  So here's what I've come up with for this month's projects...

New Mini Marquetry Boxes and Finally the lost Falling Boxes Marquetry Box!

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well, I meant to have these posted yesterday but I got involved with burning limbs from two trees that fell on the property.  I'm so happy that that's all cleaned up and done and I can get back to the studio!

I thank all of those folks who loved the marquetry boxes!  Just Awesome!!   So, I thought I would do some smaller ones for trinkets.  These range in size but mainly little boxes for small treasures.  Some of the boxes would be perfect to keep needles, placing a teabag inside for a small gift, a baby's first tooth and even a personalized monogram box.  Here they are...

If you have been following me on Facebook, you may remember that I worked on a marquetry box with a patterned called Falling Boxes.  Very Complicated!  I worked several hours on the design of this box only for my electricity to go out and I didn't save the design.  Of course this has happened so many times before and you would think I would learn to not only save but to backup frequently.  Oy Vey!  Oh well, I finally sat down and did it again and boy howdy, I saved like every second!  HAHA!  I LOVE THIS BOX!  It's so cool!  You can either see falling boxes or if you look hard enough you can see a six sides star.

New Projects! Marquetry Boxes and It's Back- The 2020 Advent Calendar!

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

I just wanted to share some fun new projects for 2021!  Marquetry Boxes and a much requested re-release of the 2020 Advent Calendar.  

I have been working on a several types of marquetry boxes.  Defined as...Marquetry, thin sheets of wood, metal, or organic material, such as shell or mother-of-pearl, cut into intricate patterns according to a preconceived design and affixed to the flat surfaces.  Now, these are not the AMAZING boxes made with different types of specialty woods however, when you ink, paint, or stain the wood pieces they are pretty special.

For my boxes, they are so fun to make!  I was telling a friend I always say that.  But honestly they are so fun to make.  I inked my wood pieces with Archival ink as it is so fast to get color on them.  I blotted the inked piece,  then with a paper towel added glue to the back and adhered it to the matching pre-engraved area on the lid.  Rinse and repeat...Last, I used a furniture wax to seal and bring out the gorgeous colors.

New! Holiday House Advent Calendar

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share my latest creation just in time to make and decorate for the festive season next month...A cool way to count down to the big day!  Holiday House Advent Calendar.

A festive house advent cut from chipboard.  Pull off the roof and the base.  Pull the door knob to open the two hinged sides to reveal 24 cubbies to stash sweet surprises.  For an additional 25th surprise swing up the secret compartment hidden in the roof.

Easy to make!  You basically make three boxes, toss in the support pieces, score and fold the little boxes that are precut for you and tape or glue together.  Hinge the three main boxes together and adhere the pretty door pieces to the front.  Add your own paper, paint, ink, etc. to make this your annual heirloom advent.
