Final Notes On Scrapbook Expo
Good Evening Everybody!
Just some final thoughts before I lay my weary head down on my pillow tonight! I had the time of my life with everybody at The Crafty Scrapper! Carolyn Ross and her husband are the most incredible people! When I met Carolyn, I knew immediately that this was my long lost sister. She has this amazing positive spirit that is totally infectious! I just had a ball! Thank you!
You know...I met these two ladies yesterday and swore that I included them in my blog post! I mean I cannot believe that I didn't! When I saw them today, I told them that they should check out my blog as I had them on it....They weren't! OMGosh! I'm so sorry! I really wasn't lying, I just don't have very good recall! When I checked tonight and went through my pictures... I knew exactly why I had skipped the pic! Purely vain of course! LOL! It showed too much of my bald spot! LOL! So to fess up...be honest and eat my own Top Hat....Here you go! HAHAHA!

Hello Everybody!
I was trying to get this up last night! But when I went to download 108 pictures....It took a while! Now I won't share all 108, but will share some highlights...
We were off to Grapevine, Texas for the Scrapbook Expo at 6:15 a.m. Arrived just in time around 9:15ish and checked in to the hotel. We walked into the Gaylord Hotel and I had NO IDEA how HUGE this place was! OH My Gosh! It's bigger that the city I live in! Everything you could want or need is in one place! Stars...I was completely blown away by this property! WOW!
Here are a few shots...
Next, it was off to drop the stuff in the room and head down to the event....Found the Crafty Scrapper's Booth, which looked AMAZING and gave a few hugs to Carolyn, Gena and Anita Houston.
It was an awesome day at The Crafty Scrapper's Booth at The Scrapbook Expo! Thank You Carolyn Ross for letting me make a mess of your demo table! Thanks Anita Houston for listening to my stories over and over! BAHAHAHA! Thank you all for coming up and saying hello! I am truly blessed to have so many cool friends!
OK, off for Day Two!
Have an amazing Weekend!

Tonight, I have been running around in my usual mad dash trying to get things done! Do I have this ...do I have that...why am I taking a hair dryer for gawd's sakes...toss that back and grab 3 more pair of underwear.... for an overnight stay!..why? I have no idea! Just the way my mind works I guess! Still trying to figure out why I have 6 watches in a Ziploc bag! Good Lawd Gertrude! Who cares!
Anyway, I have painted, errr...stained rather, my best shirts because when I was packing. I had no idea that my hands were all inky with Dy's Dylusions and Tim's new Distress Paint! BLAST! OH well! Art shirts I say! Art shirts! I AM THE PAINT AND INK!
Here's a shot of my work surface tonight! Believe it or not there's a project or two in there...
YES! I'm trying to make this blog post interesting with some pictures! Ready to be shocked? Guess who this is....I found this picture on my computer at work! Again...why? I have no idea! LOL!
Ready???? Are you sure??? LOL!
Ok....
We had hair and also looked trim! Dig how my jeans come all the way up past my belly button! I can't remember the last time I saw my belly button! Cesar looking sporty with his belly bag wrapped around his shoulder! Oh how time can change a person! This was 1995 in Bath, England ...Thought you'd get a laugh out of this....
Well, off to see if I really need to take all 6 watches...Hope to see you in Grapevine, Texas... if you can make it..If not I will take some pics!

Happy Birthday Mom!
Good Morning Everybody!
Today, February 18th is my Mom, Nell Trotter Hankins Birthday! I am so honored to do a little tribute to her on this fine day.
You know, my mom has been an amazing person in my life. She has always been there for me and has always believed in me. That truly is the coolest thing ever. Sometimes she had to shut her eyes and just pray that I would make the right decision and then there were times when she just had to tell me what the right decision was! LOL! A very compassionate person who has a dictionary for a mind. If you ever need to know how to spell something or what something means, she can readily hand you the information! She loves history, is an avid reader and does handwork to fill the time when she is not volunteering. Every gray hair in mom's head was given to her by yours truly. What can I say, I was the black sheep in the family! LOL!
I wrote to her today in a card, that when I was a kid in elementary school, there was no better feeling than to look up after school and see her sweet face standing there waiting to walk me home from school. She and I have always been "Pals" as we used to say, and we would would walk and talk about what I did in school that day. Once home, we shared Eskimo pies...You know those ice cream treats...Just because she knew how much I loved them. ...Now to me folks, that's a mother's love.
BTW, I just want to take a second to thank all of you who helped me though suggestions, guidance and just plain old company on Ustream yesterday as I made mom's Greeting Card Organizer. She loved it...But I have to say probably her favorite gift of all was the book I made. Not so much the book, but it's contents. A letter from each one of us sharing how mom touched each of our lives. Each one had their own page and it really turned out to be a real beauty. Did I take one single picture of anything I made? NO!! LOL! Completely forgot...However, here is a snap of her looking at the book which sent me trying to find the tissues for the tears that ensued.

My family came into Austin to take "Granna" out to dinner to celebrate. The true miracle here is that we found a day we could be together all in one room. So good to be with everybody and to celebrate this very important day.
Granna and her infamous throw away camera! LOL!
Finny Giving Granna some Lovin'.

Happy 80th Birthday Mama! I love you so much!
