Flower Making!

Good Morning Everybody!

Last night I went into my studio, shut the door and had the most amazing time with paper and ink! It happens doesn't it? I had things I needed to pull from my Idea Organizer and just do!  I managed to wipe out a couple of videos (more on that later) and a couple of cards.  I had a blast and a half creating!

Oh the videos!  The Vid-e-os!  Yes, there's always a story that goes along with anything that happens in my life!  LOL!  It never seems to be smooth sailing when anything in my life involves the Internet! Yes, I'm gotta spill!   This morning I wanted to share a video on how I made the flowers for the front of the 14 Things I Love About You Heart Box.  You asked and I was happy to show you....

When I went to bed last night, I started the upload to Youtube!  Simple right...I always do this because it takes so long for even the shortest video....Well you guys, I have a touch screen computer.  One of those new fangled jobbies (actually a couple of years old now, which really means it's old.. lol!) that I just knew would just be perfect for me and a big help!  It really has been, but here's the downfall...

I live in the country...We have HUGE flying bugs in the country!  The size of carrier pigeons!  See where I'm going?  At night, the flying creatures that obviously miss the sunlight fly around looking for light sources right?  My computer screen is VERY luminous!  The clever bugs hit the touch screen of the computer and God knows what is on my computer screen the next morning!  Seriously!  This morning I went to check if the video loaded and NO!!  However,  I had the nicest web page from Bank of America!  Never been to Bank of America, never visited their site..I'm assuming the winged bandit wanted to make a midnight withdrawal!

So long story short...I had to reload the video this morning....I'm NOT giving up!  LOL!

A video on how I made the metal flowers....

Well, Gotta Run!  See y'all soon!

  2. You crack me up Jimbo. So not prepared. But it is what I love about you.... so real and down to earth! I did make these flowers with the cans and yes I was careful with them. I am going to glue them on an antique window frame I am dolling up for my house! Beware the bugs. I was herded into my bedroom last night by a moth that was in love with my cell phone screen. Got to love these warm February days when all the creepy crawlies are waking up!

  4. Thank you SOOOOOO much for sharing about the flowers! I had no idea they were foil tape colored with alcohol inks by just looking at the pics from yesterday. They kinda looked like faux leather. Regardless... I love making flowers from scratch! I had to LOL at your curved cutting plate.... man, you gotta flip those babies over every time! I bet you could have used your grassy juice to color the flowers...bwahahaha! You are brave to drink that stuff!

  9. Oh Jimbo where do I begin . . . So much going on here. Giant bugs trying to get cash. Gianormous watches (really, it could be bigger than my head). Coffee and that green grass concoction? Did you get any sleep last night after drinking both of those? Seriously, it is very entertaining to watch you work and I appreciate you taking the time to make the videos. I can't get enough of that flower die-so versatile. Thanks so much for all the smiles, laughs and information!

  16. You are way too funny but I think I must take you in hand...

After you start the video upload, TURN OFF your computer screen and leave everything else running! See where I'm going with this... no light, no giant bugs, no strange websites that may bring the FBI calling!

    Love you!

  19. Hi Jim . . . you really had me laughing tonight (still have a smile on my face). I don't know that I could live anywhere that has the giant bugs like you do on your little ranch, especially after seeing the pics you posted last year of the giant spider on your poarch (HATE spiders) . . . love the new watch that you showed I bet you could even wear it around your ankle, but then people may think that you were out on parole (LOL) . . . thanks for sharing the video on the way you made your flowers - I have always used either cardstock or thin metal so I will try this technique . . . oh, one more thing, its about your juice drink . . . I could have sworn you said it tasted like "crap" but then you said it tastes like the grass you mow (I really think you were just being polite and it does taste like "crap") . . .

  20. Thanks for the tutorial ! I'm so glad I picked up a few more packs of those Inksentials foil packs from Michaels on 70% clearance (yes that's right, cost me about 95 cents or something crazy like that!), makes me wonder if Ranger is discontinuing them or if the typical Michael's shopper just is clueless about ow to use them??? Maybe they're changing their packaging?? Anyhoo, you are a hoot to watch! When you lost track of your freshly cut flowers I wanted to yell out at the screen "right over there"! Us creative types truely are a unique set of people!!

    Blessings,
    Adrienne

  21. Love the tutorial. Certainly will try this technique. Thanks for the laughs along the way. Did you really say, "watch out for my junk" when you put the Big Shot down in front of your crotch? LOL!!

  22. I loved your video on the flowers! What an awesome idea... I also agree it would be easier and safe for me to do it the way you showed verses using a Monster drink can! I am such a klutz, I would be the one on the way to the ER!!! LOL! It's nice to hear that your life is not always perfect... it makes you real and only human! As for the hug bugs... completely understand, when I lived in TN... I had to get used to them. Here in WI we have little bugs! LOL! I hope you have a wonderful day! Sorry for rambling! LOL!

  23. I can't imagine the can flowers would shape the way the vent tape ones. I've cut a lot of can. Even cut it with my fiskars paper cutter. I think I'll have to do a side by side comparison.
*bad grammar fault of iPod glitching out refuses me editing. Bah!

  24. OH MY!!! I wasn't going to say anything about "my junk" but Annette opened the door...Jimbo...you crack me up!!! I know you meant the junk on your table but when you said it...I went right "there" with Annette...LOL!!! And when you lost the little flower...I kept telling my computer screen...it's right there...more giggles.

Ok...serious now...I saw your heart box in person and ASSUMED they were made from your Monster cans. I would NEVER have guessed they were foil tape and card stock. I'm going to have to make some flowers now that I know I won't cut my fingers off my hands....LOL!!!
