Got Hearts On My Mind!

Good Morning!!!

Wow!  Yesterday was tooo much fun!  Yes, I did work on the 14 Things I Love About You Heart Tutorial while I chatted with three other friends on Skype....It always amazes me how I can actually video chat in real time with someone from the UK, India, and Portland, OR. at the same time!!  Too Cool!  Anyway, I almost finished the tutorial except for the pictures. ....Yes, I know I promised yesterday....but I had to take a craft break.  My friend Barb came over last night and as always, she showed me something new! Why is it when Barb shows up and starts showing me something new it cost me money!  Got to have it!  LOL!

You know how we all love to learn new things right?  Well, Barb and I worked in the studio, she on a project that she ended up giving me!  (How cool was that?  I will show you in a second...)  I finished up my Heart Box. She then showed me what she was working on.  She had just purchased some sets of the Donna Downey PanPastels that come with a link to Donna's YouTube tutorial!  I was all over it like white on rice!  We even drove back to her house to grab the sets so I could do one!  When you live in the country, to "just drive to someones house" means that it needs to be pretty important!  LOL!

I have always read about PanPastels, even watched videos on people using them, but never ventured out from under my chipboard long enough to play. Well folks I'm SOLD!  I want MORE!  So, guess where I'm going? LOL!  I am uploading the (136) 5 meg. pictures for my tutorial that will take the rest of the afternoon to load...TRUST ME!  Remember my country connection to the world wide web?  While I'm waiting for these bad boys to load, be sorted, picked through and resized, I'm off to Jerry's Artarama!  Here's a link just for fun:  Jerry's Artarama!  I have never been..heard about it a gazillion times, but feel know is the time to make a foray into Austintown to see for myself!  I plan to take my Christmas cash and leave my AMEX card in the car!  Thought about leaving old AMEX at home but just in case I run out of gas and need it...you know the drill!  HAHAHAHA!

So I'm off, but wanted to give you an update on the tut and show you some pictures of our doings last night.  PLEASE keep in mind that this is my first try at PanPastels so don't laugh!

Sneak Peek of Heart Box...

Here's Barb's Gift To Me!  Thank Barb!.....

Here's my attaempt!  LOL!....

See y'all in a bit!
Have an awesome Sunday!

  1. Your heart looks great to me. Definitely requires a trip to the art store! You're going to love pan pastels. I'm chuckling because I just read about new markers (Molotow) on Teesha Moore's blog and I'm debating a run into Dick Blick in Seatle. My reasoning - no rush hour traffic and they look so pretty. You've earned a treat - go have a ball.Just take the card in with you. Art stores are like candy stores.

  9. Loved (and laughed!!) at the comment about living in the country! I'm in the same boat! To drive to someone's house, it must be pretty darn important---my closest neighbor is a little over 2 miles from me!lol Have fun venturing out---LOVING that heart!!!!

  15. Jim, your first attempt at pan pastels is awesome! Looks like you have been playing with them for years.

You also need to learn the Las Vegas Rule: If you fly to Las Vegas, always leave enough cash in your car glove box to get out of the airport parking lot! So, leave your credit card at home, but put enough cash in your glove box to buy enough gas to get home!!
