Gifts From Karen Burniston! Yahoo!

Good Evening Everybody!

Yesterday, I received a HUGE box from Karen Burniston of Sizzix!  I met Karen at CHA by a kind introduction by the most amazing designer, Shelly Hickox.  I had no idea that Karen was from the Houston, Texas area.  Small world huh?

Well, Karen designs the coolest dies for Sizzix and she sent me a boatload to try out.  I was shocked when I opened the box and I pulled out die after die!  I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I was.  So NEAT!  Thank You Karen!....So guess what I will be doing soon?  You got it... making some Pop and Cut cards!  I had always admired what Shelly had done with these amazing dies from Karen and now it's my turn to play!

Here's a video on these GORGEOUS dies....

I'll be back soon with some cards and projects using these dies.....So EXCITED!

OK, last bit of info for the evening...

Yes, Technology got the better of me tonight again!  One day, I'm gonna win!  But NOT tonight!  As promised I did do a video on the little mini I made with the AMAZING envelope maker from We R Memory Keepers.  Well, I ran out of memory somewhere within the first 10 minutes and didn't hear the alarm...So I kept on going and completed the whole album!  Went to download it to my computer....NOPE!  BLAST IT!  So, I did another little album...(Yes, I now have three!)....and another video and it's uploading now...So sometime at the crack of dawn it will be up on Youtube....I so want to laugh here!

OH, yeah, Thanks for the comments on the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board...affectionately called The Envelope Maker!  It Is SOOOO Awesome!  I went over to WRMK, website and downloaded the .pdf file of the corrections.  It matches the board perfectly in size and color, laminated it and Scor-taped it to the board... Perfect fix!

Well, I better run, but another big THANK YOU to Karen Burniston of Sizzix for the AMAZING Treasures you sent!  I'm so excited to play and try these out!

Tomorrow is Friday... So that means two whole days to play in the studio! Yahooo!

Have an Awesome Evening!

Jim

  4. Can't think of better hands than yours for these dies to land in, Jim. How cool! I've been amazed at the cards that Shelley has made with them; they're really fun. If you go on Karen's blog, you can download templates for floating floors and, most recently, a tuxedo to use with the Pop N Cuts. Enjoy your diecutting tonight.

  10. Can I come over and play? That one die...folding album whatcha-call-it die has been sold out on the Sizzix website since before CHA. Now I know why, she keeps giving them away. At least all these dies are in good creative hands! I am so jealous! If you wake up in the morning with pieces of paper stuck to your forehead, you have had a good night of crafting!

    1. Lori, I didn't take it from Sizzix, I promise! Ha ha. By contract I get a small supply of my own dies to distribute to designers and bloggers. I've had that accordion die since they initially shipped in October. I don't think anyone anticipated them selling as well as they have. Luckily a boatload of album dies is in the water right now. Expected to hit the Sizzix warehouse next Wednesday and stores get their orders first, before Sizzix dot com.

    2. Thanks Karen! I asked on the Sizzix blog too. I am crossing my fingers my local store is bringing it in, otherwise I will be stalking sizzix.com. I love that die!

  11. What?! A video in my honor? I love it! Yes, I'm very generous (savvy) to give my new friend Jim (awesome designer) some dies out of the goodness of my winged heart (which can be nested inside the Pop 'n Cuts base die for amazing effects..) Ha ha ha! Seriously, though, I hope you enjoy them and can't wait to see your gentlemanly take on these dies!

  13. So very generous. She knows you have a generous heart and share your how to's, so I think she is very sweet. I cannot wait to see what you create with these. I have not seen them locally by me, and so I will note as we go along with you so I can order them online!

  15. Well, Jim I am as excited as you are about the goodies Karen sent. With your "edgy, wanky" style I can't wait to follow what you will do with these. I have the basic P&C, the Star and just ordered the frame, but where in the heck have all that you showed us today been hiding? I want some of them ! I will say P&C's are soooooo addictive. Thanks to you and the talented Karen B. I'll be watching you both.

  17. I thought it was great when two of my favorite creative people got together: Karen Burniston and Shelly Hickox. Now I find out, Jim, you've joined the crowd. I'll never get any crafting done because I just "have" to check out all of your blogs to see what fantastic madness you all are up to! LOL. I'm becoming addicted to the PNC dies and am now anxiously awaiting the accordion album. Karen really knows how to design great dies. I know you will do something splendid with them, Jim!
