IT'S HERE!! The Vintage Skippy Camper Kits and Tutorials!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well, I finally finished the tutorial for the Vintage Skippy Camper!  I'm so excited about this project!  I hope you will be too!

We were a big camping family and by the time I was 16 years old, I had pretty much been to every State Park in the USA!  Such good memories!  So, to capture some of those memories, I designed The Vintage Skippy Camper, very much like the one my family had when I was young.

The Vintage Skippy Camper is a cool retro looking camper ready for vacation memories of your own.  Pull open the back storage compartment to reveal a mini to add your special touch to.  Looks great sitting on a shelf or table reminding us of the fun we had hiking, playing cards, making S'mores and seeing the sites!

If you wish to make this a cool nightlight for a child's room, don't add the mini, but instead, line the windows with tracing paper and add a battery operated tea light!  Would be so cool!

If you haven't seen it already, here is....

If you would like to give this a try I will be selling the kits with an instant download tutorial.  Please note, I have just begun cutting the kits now and will not be able to ship the kits out until next Monday, April 25, 2016.

The Kit Contents are:

Now, for the folks who just want a tutorial...

I have been asked that I make the tutorial available to folks who don’t want to buy the chipboard kit as they like to do all the cutting themselves. My hesitation has always been that it may be too hard for someone to cut the shaped pieces. However, I am including in this tutorial the .SVG files to cut with your digital cutter…I would like to stress, I have no control over your cutter or software. Please keep this in mind…Thanks in advance!

If you are using the included .SVG files, cut the pieces out of light to medium weight chipboard. You will need to cut these same pieces up to 2 or 3 times to get the thickness of around point 85 weight (1/8-inch thickness) Heavy Chipboard that was used to make this. Once the pieces have been cut, apply glue or adhesive (If you have a 9-inch Xyron Creative Station this is awesome as it give edge to edge coverage.) to the pieces and align and stack them together forming a thicker piece. Next, take a brayer and roll over the stacked pieces forming a good solid piece.
Please also note...
This is a ZIPPED file...Please make sure you have the ability to open a zipped file on your computer before purchasing. It is the only way I can put multiple files into one main file through my store software.
If you would like the tutorial with the included .SVG files to cut with your digital cutter you can find it in my shop by

Thanks Tons!

  3. Does the full kit with the pieces cut also include the SVG files with the tutorial just in case you want to make another one?

  4. I too am wondering about the svg file being in the tutorial if we purchase the kit. I will be wanting to make 3 more as a gifts for my siblings of our trip moving to Alaska. Skippy looks just like the Shasta we had, minus the overhang, and used for many adventurous trips camping and fishing in our beautiful new home state. (That is until the 4 of us kids could no longer fit in the overhang bunk!) So having the cut file would be a necessity for me! Jim, I love all your beautiful engineered dimensional pieces ... this is by far my favorite for so many sentimental reasons! Thanks for (helping me remember) the memories!
