Take Out Tuesday Ustream: Dylusional Stamp Set Storage

Good Morning Everyone...

What a wonderful week it has been having company.  I rarely have company, so it was awesome to pull out the fine china...such as paper plates, cups and recycled plastic bowls from various fast food places...not to mention the fine dinner napkins of folded paper towels or shall I say in this case Kitchen Rolls to show off our fine country living..LOL!  What's even more awesome is with a good friend...They don't really care...

So, it's been a fun filled week of boot buying, digging through antique stores, learning new things and really...just hanging out, chilling and relaxing!  I think the picture below says it all...RELAXED COUNTRY LIVING...Such a wonderful time!  

Now that Dyan has left, it's time to gather my thoughts and get busy again...Using my brain again...Back in my studio again...and...Take Out Tuesday's Ustream Show again....

Tonight, for Take Out Tuesday, I will be making a storage piece for Dyan's Dylusions Stamps sets, which are also the same size sets as Tim Holtz, Dina Wakley and other Stampers Anonymous stamp sets.

I will be making the box from black chipboard and doing up the outside in Dylusional style....

If you care to join in, here are the supplies you will need:

For the box:

(10) Sheets of Black Chipboard (If you don't have black chipboard, you can paint the box with black craft paint.)

Adhesive to adhere the chipboard pieces together to form a more rigid box.  

Black Cardstock for Structure Strips

Scor-Tape or similar

Glossy Accents Glue

For decorating the outside of the box:

White and Black Pen

White Linen Dylusions Paint or similar

Mini Applicator

Archival Black Ink

Shape Stencil

Assorted Stamps

National Scrapbook Day at Chico Scrapbooks

Good Morning Everyone!

Tomorrow morning I'm on a jet plane headed for Beautiful Sunny California!  Yahoooo!  The bags are packed and I am ready to roll!  

We are going to have an awesome time crafting with the ladies and gents on this 3 day NSD event at Chico Scrapbooks.  A weekend full of crafting fun, awesome fellowship and great food!  Can't wait!!

The Flip Flop Photo Box Tutorial and Kit! DONE!

Good Morning Everyone!

I'd like to share a new project I just finished...I call it The Flip Flop Photo Box....Why such a strange name?

The Flip Flop Photo Box makes a beautiful presentation on any tabletop.  Lift the label pull to open the box...that's when the flip flop action happens!  There will always be a least 2 sides of the photo pages showing when flipped.  As you push one page down, another one flips up and the last one flops down...A fun way to show off your favorite pictures.

The Frame Thang! Part 2

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Hope everyone is having an awesome Thursday!  As promised, here is part 2 of The Frame Thang that we finished up on Tuesday's Take Out Tuesday's Ustream Show....

Here's how the back of The Frame Thang turned out...

Add 3 Idea-ology Hinge Clips across the top about 1-inch down. (I glued these on.)

Cut (3) pieces of patterned paper covered chipboard to 3-1/2 x 4-inches.  Place these pieces on the clips centered.

Add (2) Idea-ology Ring Binders down from the top 6-inches and over from the left/right 3/4-inch. (I glued these on.)

Cut (2) pieces of patterned paper covered chipboard to 5-1/4 x 5-1/4-inches.  

For these covered pieces, come down 1/2-inch from the top edge and punch 1/8-inch holes at 1-1/8 and 4-1/4-inches.

Add the pieces cut above to the ring binders.

For decoration, cut (2) 1-1/2 x 10-inch pieces from chipboard and cover with patterned paper.  I used the We R Memory Keepers Stub cut Corner Chomper on all four corners.  

Apply the decorative pieces to each side.

Add (2) more Idea-ology Hinge Clips to the top of the decorative pieces.

Last, add a handle or knob to the top centered.

DONE!!!

The Frame Thang! Part 1

Hello Everyone!

On last week's Take Out Tuesday Ustream Show we started the Frame Thang!  As promised, I wanted to get out all the measurements and supplies need to make this THANG!  This is Part 1 of the front side of the Frame Thang...

So lets get started shall we?

First, this is what the Frame Thang looks like...

Supplies:
(7) 12 x 12 Pieces of Heavy Weight Chipboard
(1) Set of Idea-ology Foundation Feet
(1) Set of Idea-ology Binder Rings
(3) Idea-ology Hinge Clips
(5) 12 x 12 Pieces of Pattered Paper (I used Tim Holtz Wall Flower)
(1) Sheet of Cardstock for Structure Strips

Adhere (4) pieces of the 12 x 12 chipboard forming (2) 12 x 12 pieces.

Cut (4) pieces of chipboard to 2 x 12-inches.  Adhere the pieces together forming (2) 2 x 12-inch pieces.

Cut (4) pieces of chipboard to 2 x 11-3/4-inches.  Adhere the pieces together forming (2) 2 x 11-3/4-inch pieces.

Apply a bead of glue to the bottom edge of the 2 x 12 piece and adhere on top of and flush to the top of the 12 x 12 Base piece.  Repeat with remain 2 x 12 piece, adhering it to the bottom edge on top of the 12 x 12 chipboard.

Apply a bead of glue to the bottom, left and right edge of one of the 2 x 11-inch side pieces and adhere to the left edge on top of the 12 x 12 chipboard and in-between the (2) 2 x 12 pieces.

Last, apply a bead of glue along all the top edges of the box.  Lower the remaining 12 x 12 piece of chipboard down onto the glued edges forming an enclosed box.

Make (9) structure strips by cutting (9) 1 x 12-inch pieces from cardstock.  Score down the center at 1/2-inch and apply Scor-Tape or similar to each side of the score line.

Apply (8) of the structure strips to all the long edges of the box.

Cut (4) structure strips to 2-1/4-inches and apply those to the (4) corners.

Box is made!

Adhere a 12 x 12 sheet of patterned paper to a piece of 12 x 12 chipboard.

Cut the paper covered chip into (9) 1 x 11 pieces.  Round off the edges.

Apply glue to each end of the 1 x 11 strip and adhere the first piece 1/2-inch up from the bottom.

For the remaining (8) pieces repeat step above by apply glue to each ended adhering them vertically up the front side of the box leaving 1/4-inch in-between each.

For a bit of a pop, I added brads to each end of the strip.

The Dylusional Box!

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks so much for coming out to Take Out Tuesday's Ustream Show last night!

I wanted to give you a couple of pictures and a few details of the angled box.....

Here's what we are talking about....

Here's what I did....

Painted 3 Large journal pages with Dyan's awesome colors (Dylusions Paint) and used stencils for some background noise.  Allow to dry.

Cut a 4 x 4 base from chipboard.

Cut (4) 5 x 5 sides and measured over 1-inch from each bottom edge and cut from the mark up to the corner making the angles.

I glued and applied structure strips to all four corners of the box.  I then covered the base piece with paint covered paper.

Once the base was covered, I applied glue to the bottom  of the box and gently lowered it centered in place.

I covered the sides with the Dylusional paper cut the same way I did the chipboard.

I cut a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2-inch lid from chipboard and  I then cut  a 4-7/8 x 4-7/8-inch  piece for the backside of the lid and adhered it centered into place.  Doing this helps the lid not to move and stay in place.

I covered the lid with the painted paper and covered two more scrap pieces of chipboard with the paper and cut scallops from scallop dies.

I punched a hole in the center of the scallops and the lid and inserted the orange knob.

To finish off, I would paint (4) wooden balls and adhere them to the bottom of the box for feet...
