  12. I am new to your blog, but not your work. I have been an admirer of your creations since I first saw them quite awhile ago. I'm thinking of purchasing your writing desk kit on Etsy. Is it very complicated? I have been a paper crafter for about 5 years & have done various projects, but I think this would be my most ambitious attempt.

    1. Patricia Good Morning!

There are two, the ladies roll top and the gents writing desk. I bet you're talking about the gents. I'm sure you can do it. If you get stuck anywhere just email me and I'll walk you through it. You can do it.

      thanks...

    2. Hi Jim,

One of the first things I do every day, after getting my Iced non-fat Chai latte, is to read your blog and watch any videos or ustreams that I couldn't see during the broadcast (due to my country living "string and tin" can internet provider>) I have to say today's made me feel like I can actually do this. I am gonna get on my chariot, go the yard and find the little sticks and start gluing, spraying and coffee filtering. Yay, you made my day! (as you do lots of times) thank you so much! Love you!

  16. Great flowers! Here's a little tip, if you've never tried it. Take the used coffee filters, rinse the coffee grounds off (used grounds make good mulch/compost for the garden) but don't wash out the stain, and let them dry. The coffee stain left in the filters is beautiful. Make flowers out of these filters and your tag or card will not only be pretty, but it will smell wonderful for a long time. I love your blog. It brings me joy every day!

  17. Certainly a different tag Jim, and I really like it.
Great colors in the flowers. You have such a great imagination.

  18. Love the colors you used! Another tip - Fold the coffee filter into quarters to trim the edge for a much quicker finish. Thanks for showing us how you made them.

  25. Fun tutorial, Jim. I especially like the effect of the harlequin stamp on the yellow flower. Fabulous bow! One of my favorite things about your tutorials is the way you talk your process aloud. You also say cute little things while you are working. You are the fun in my morning.

  30. How creative! I recently learned how to make the coffee filter flowers using Tim's Tattered Flowers die. So, today when I went to Costco, I tried to get a super large Costco-size package of filters. They don't have them any more!

When I started the video, my husband asked me if that was why I tried to get the filters at Costco today. Busted!!!!!!

  31. Love the flowers, but I have to say that what impressed me was the bow. When you started wrapping the seam binding around your fingers it dawned on me how simple a pretty bow can be. Well, doh and I'm slapping my forehead. I'm starting to hope you'll do an entire video on just bows! Some of us are, shall we say, challenged in that area. LOL

  32. Jim - I really love reading your blog and watching your videos - the size of your archival ink pad is giagnormous plus it has a swing lid - is that a special limited edition kind? Mine is like half the size of that and I always wish for a bigger achival pad to ink up tbackground sheet type stamps.

  40. I see videos like this and I want to run and do it myself. But I stop short and say "What do I do with it after it is made?" That question always keeps me from crafting anything. I wish that there was some suggestions at the end to answer that question, I would love to have an answer, as I want to make practically everything I have seen on the blogs.
