A New Beginning...Setting Sail!

Good Morning!

Change...

“We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better.”
― C. JoyBell C.

This morning I have been thinking about one of my favorite movies....The African Queen with Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn....

I am sailing out from the safe, secure and warm harbor of a real job... My small boat is filled with excitement that is brimming with ideas and wonder...  I can't lie...There is fear of unknown rapids and rough water that will need to be traversed, but I know my boat is well built and my life vest is strapped on.  I'm setting sail in hopes to find the clean fresh breezes and the open expanse of the ocean.  A new world awaits.  Let the journey begin!

Last week was bittersweet.  Leaving what has been my work home for over 12 years and the friends and family I have made there..It was tough.  I have so enjoyed working for Seton and being apart of an amazing team. However, I knew that time ticks on... I am not getting any younger and I MUST give being out on my own, once again, a try.  Thanks to Seton and my Seton family!  It's been such an amazing journey!  I have been so blessed.

Now it's time to...well, HAVE TIME... to become more focused, be more organized, create new things, teach what I can, and meet new friends along the way...

I'm totally thrilled to start a new adventure and set sail for the new lands that are just beyond...

See y' all real soon...

  4. That is an inspiring quote at the beginning of this post.
As I have questioned you a few days ago, what is your new journey going to be? Is it something you can share with us?
I have been "out of the loop" for some time due to "life".
Whatever you are venturing on, I wish you well.

  9. Stay brave. Decisions born in the heart and spirit are never easy, but always lead us to a truer place. I too, made a decision to step off of "the corporate train" for a spell after my job was recently eliminated. My heart kept whispering, "what if - what if I don't go back?"...and so, with a nervous step, I stepped off and decided to focus on a more creative and focused existence. I have a novel to finish and art that is waiting for my attention. I want to pay if forward in my community as well. When I was concerned about how to frame this unexpected sabbatical, an entrepreneur friend of mine said, "Your wrote a book. That is all you will ever need to say. But be clear, you are now in the burn period - make every second count.". I hear those words every morning when I rise and I strive to live up to the blessing of time that I have been given. God's speed to you as you begin this new chapter in your life!
