Reliving Scrapper's Playground and New York!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I wanted to share my New York adventures at the amazing Scrapper's Playground in North Babylon, New York!

First up was a drive to see the beach with the Amazing and Beautiful Sue O'Malley who owns Scrapper's Playground...Boy it was cold!!!

Then it was to the shop to teach the Eclectic Ink Spray Holder.....

Then it was time to head back to the hotel for some much needed sleep!  The next morning we got out of bed to a HUGE surprise...SNOW!  Two Texas Boys in snow....CRAZY!

We walked over to Premier Diner for breakfast.  I was in Heaven!  They quite couldn't understand why we kept popping up from our table to go outside to look at the snow!

Heaven right?  Then it was off to the store to do Lynn's Light By The Sea Lighthouse...in the snow even!

The class was just amazing and the ladies were so incredible!  Thank you, Thank you ladies!...
After class it was time to celebrate with a fabulous dinner at Teller's!  I had the most amazing Pork chops!  No pictures of it though!  LOL!

Then it was time for bed....New York in the morning...

Sue's family had rented an apartment in the city for a get together...Graciously, Sue invited us to join in the fun with her family for the day...We accepted...Really!  LOL  Thanks so much Sue!  It was the best day of our lives!  Off we went in Sue's Car...I cannot believe she was brave enough to drive in the city...Not Me!

First up was breakfast with Sue's family of course...

Next we explored the city....

The shop pictured above was closed!!!  The one I was told to make sure I go to even!...Tinsel Trading Company!!  Oh well!  So we walked and shopped and saw the sights!

And then the highlights...

Rockefeller Center...

St. Patrick's Cathedral on Palm Sunday...

Dylan's Candy Shop!  WOW!!!

Times Square!!

Grand Central Station....and Ben G. with the big hair!

Sadly, we saw where the explosion was in the East Village...

Then it was time for dessert at Veniero's!!!  Yeah Baby!

This is what I inhaled....Just looking at it again makes me wish for more!

Then it was time to say good bye to Sue and her fantastic family and head back on the train...on our own...in New York...Bahahaha!  We did fine and it was a fun adventure!

On The Train!

When we het the Deer Park Train stop we got off and to tell you the truth, I don't think we rode a legal cab back to the hotel...No light on top of the cab and no meter!  He just said $15.00 and we paid...LOL!

On Monday morning we drove with a very talkative driver to the airport...and it was just amazing to get home!

I want to thank Sue O'Malley and her family for such an amazing weekend and for being such amazing hosts!  I also want to thank all the ladies who came out in the snow for the classes!  I had a ball with you all!!  Thank you for making it so special!

Have an awesome Friday Everyone!

  3. Oh Jim,

I read this through tears. . . I am from Long Island and just moved two years ago to GA. While GA is very nice, I miss NY SOOOOOO much. I took a class with Dyan at Scrapper's playground and have experienced Sue's sweet hospitality first hand. I wish you had come to NY while I was there. I also wish I could have been your tour guide at Jones Beach and in the city. Sorry you got snow, although perhaps you enjoyed seeing it! I am so glad you and Ceaser had a good time, I am sure the ladies in your class had a wonderful time with you.

    Hugs,
    Maureen

  6. Hi Jim,
I don't blame you for not driving in the city. I am only 10 miles from it in New Jersey and I don't drive in it either, I take the ferry. Wasn't St. Patrick's just beautiful? I can never get enough of it either. Good thing you and Ceasar weren't here for one of our snow storms but at least you got to see it. Do you plan on coming back

    Big Hugs
