TAG #2 Stenciled Tag for Inspiration Emporium

Good Evening Everybody!

I hope your Wednesday has been a great one!  Me...a bit slow and achy today!  I had a fall last night and busted up my face and ear...Oh Yeah... and my Macbook Air flew across the room and broke into pieces...I'm fine, but the Mac is deader than dead!  I hate that!  It was fairly new....Gone!  Oh well, I can't cry over spilled milk, so I took a few Advil and have been working on the birdhouse clock tonight.  I hope to have it done soon, but I'm really enjoying putting it together and savoring the moment...You do that with some projects right?  Grab a cup of coffee and just stare at it and think of the next step.  I love that part!

Well, I wanted to cover a couple of things tonight...First, I wanted to share another tag with you tonight.  It's kind of an abstract crazy tag, but I like how it turned out....Hope you do too...It was for this month's designer challenge for Inspiration Emporium...our challenge...to pull out our Stencils and Masks and create.

FLY BY THE NUMBERS

Believe it or not, there is book paper under the layers.  I added that first with Multi Medium Matte from Claudine Hellmuth's Studio line.  I then stenciled the tag with The Crafter's Workshop Numbers Collage Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi Black Embossing Paste.  Next, I used Claudine Helluth's Summer Garden Stencil and some white Wendi Vecchi Embossing Paste for the flowers and added some Fired Brick Distress Paint to the petals.  I stamped the background with Dina Wakley's Earnest stamp.  I went over the whole tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I swiped Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Paint over the top of the black Embossed numbers and then headed for the dies....I cut the butterfly from Tim Holtz Fanciful Flights die and adhered it to the left bottom of the tag.  Last, I pulled out the skewers...I know...They were on my desk so I said why not!  I "swirled" the skewers with a black Copic marker and went over it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and glued them to the tag....Done...

Supplies Used May be Purchased from Inspiration Emporium

The second thing I wanted to share were the awesome hats that Cristi aka Gypsy made for Cesar and I.    Here are a couple of videos on them....They Rock!  Thanks Again Cristi!

Here's Mine...

Here's Cesar's....

Cool Huh!  Amazing!

Thank you all for coming by!  Have an awesome night!

  7. Sorry to hear about your fall and the demise of the Mac. More importantly - I saw on the news about the explosion in Texas - are you and Cesar OK? It looked really bad and I'm worried about you both.

Nice tag! Thanks so much for showing Christi's hats as I missed them on Tuesdays Ustream. Because of the time lag I missed the last six minutes or so when you switched off. They are both amazing and I love that the paper for Cesar's box was hand stamped - what a labour of love! Christi, you are so talented and kind!

    1. Thanks Lynn for your concern. West is about two and a half hours away. It's where we stop to get kolaches on the way to Dallas or Waxshachie. In fact we were there not even a week ago. Lets keep all those folks in our thoughts and prayers.

      Hugs to ya! J.

  11. Jim, Jim, Jim, so glad you didn't break your arm or something. So sorry to hear about your Macbook. Love the tag! I'm excited to see your clock, I'm pretty happy with mine but I'm not sure I like the pendulums. I just heard about the explosion in Texas, I don't know where you are from there but hope you all are ok. You'll probably ache for awhile, take care my friend.

  12. Jim, everyone knows that last step is a doozy, always avoid the last step! LOL just joking, I hope you heal quickly and if you bought your Mac with Amex, it might be covered, just depends on how long you have had it. Check back with ya Sunday.

  13. Jim,

I am sorry I am late with my well wishes for your health after the fall, I am traveling and haven't been checking my email regularly. I hope you are doing alright. It stinks when things like that happen. Also, very sorry to hear about your Mac, I know how expensive it will be to replace, but I am thankful you weren't hurt seriously. I hope this note finds you on the mend, in the meantime, please be assured of my prayers and best wishes.

    Hugs,
    Maureen

  15. Ooooh! I hope you can salvage the stuff on the Mac's drive! And that you have insurance (maybe your household insurance will cover it, because of the fall!)....And, of course, I hope the face and ear don't hurt too much! Good you have projects to take your mind off the pain!

Love the number stencil and embossing paste!! The bamboo was so unexpected-very cool with the sharpie pen too ;) thank you so much for showing the bitty hats, everyone was so nice it just made me giddy :) sorry I'm so late to post, I always get them a day late (probably should use my gmail account). 21. Jim, jim, jim, and I thought I was the only one to do those crazy things. Hope you are ok. Heck with the computer - it is replaceable, but you aren't!! Actually, I would probably be sick to death if my computer got broken to. Isn't it rediculous how dependant we have become all this modern technology. How did we all survive for all those years without them????? You know - back in the caveman days. LOL. Hope you are physically feeling better real soon. Eat Bacon!!!! Fix whatever ails you.
    Hugs,
    Marcie

  22. Your computer is replaceable, but you my friend aren't. Did the ground just come up and trip you? I had that happen to me once, cracked a rib. Our thoughts & prayers go out to the people of West. Rest up, Tuesday will be here before you know it!
