Fast Father's Day Gift

Good Evening Everyone!

Good Lawd!  That's all I have to say!  Why am I always running!  Can anyone tell me?  I am so excited about going to Chicago on Friday to teach at Creative Cards and Crafts.  It's going to be a fun packed weekend.  Speaking of packing...I've packed, repacked, sent all the kits to the store last week and started packing all my tools and there still is that fear I'll forget something important.  If I have, we will survive!

I have tomorrow night to pack my clothes and call it quits before getting on the plane Friday morning...at the crack.  So tonight, I had this project that I needed to get out of my head for weeks and into the studio.  I had the new Tim Holtz Petal Die and I cut the set of three petals and took them out to the porch with a coffee.  I sat and looked at them long enough and said...Well, let me give it a try.

Here's what I came up with...And please let me warn you.  I used my cell phone and had bad lighting for the pictures so, please forgive...

Father's Day Pocket Knife Mini...It took about 2 hours to make...

So where is the die cut petal? The Petal die cut was perfect as it has a round end and allowed the "blade pages" to pivot on the metal scrapbook extension posts.

For those of you who might be interested...I will be back tomorrow night with a fast tutorial on how to make it.  I started to do it on this blog, but found myself dozing.  LOL!

Thanks All!

  5. This is so perfect and clever! I have 1 husband, 9 sons, 2 son-in-laws and 19 grandsons, so I am ALWAYS looking for masculine ideas. This looks quick and they will all try to figure out how it is made. I also love that it is simple so that I can just slap the photos or thoughts on each blade....enough said. Thank you!

  6. Definitely genius! My husband carries a pocket knife every single day. I definitely have to make one of these for him. So looking forward to the tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing.
