Happy 4th to you too Jim !
There ought to be a law against rain storms on the 4th of July... no fireworks last night!! Something I read a while back mentioned all the people in the author's family that had served our country. It got me thinking and suddenly there was this long, long list of immediate family members who had been and are now in the military. Everyone should think about this; you may surprise yourself and feel a little tingle of pride. My family does have colonial roots in this country on one side and first generation Americans on the other. Getting here and living through it in order to establish families and communities was no easy task during the formative years of our nation. When I was told what my first generation relatives had to do and to learn to become citizens, I realized they had come here looking for refuge from hardships I had never known and had been willing to work for what I had been freely given by being born here. I guess those thoughts will stay with me and the fireworks will come another time. Happy 4th, Jim... you ole firecracker!!
Happy 4th to you too!!!
