Box in The Round

If there is one thing I'm not is SQUARE!  A little round and bubbly maybe, but not square! At least that's my point of view!  LOL!

For my YouTube subscribers this is old hat, but for my blogging buddies, I did a video last night on how to make a round box.  You guys, I have to say here and now that I completely hacked this video to pieces!  LOL!  Let me explain if you will....It's tough to keep a video to 15 minutes to slide by the YouTube requirements!  TOUGH!  I SAY TOUGH! :) especially when you have a lot to say!  :)
the video was 26 minutes and some change and by golly I set about hacking away around 11:00 p.m. last night.  An hour to cut approximately 12 minutes!  Bahahaha!  Finally done, I started the upload to YouTube and once it was almost done, the electricity flashes off and back on for a second.  Well,  needless to say, It didn't save the video nor upload it!  BLAST!  LOL!  I went to bed and dreamed of better days!  hahahaha!  SO this morning, I hacked away again and put it up on YouTube successfully! Hall-lay-luyer!

I had received quite a few emails from folks having troubles finding round boxes to make the Happy Haunting Panorama.  So I hope this little video tutorial helps you guys out.  It's pretty simple.  Even if you aren't into the panorama, this might be something to put on the back burner for the day you might be in need.

So here it is....

Oh yeah, I wanted to share one last thing with you!  My mom is coming to spend the weekend this Saturday and she has agreed to do a project with me.  I told her I was going to video tape it....She said, "Well Jimmy, I'll have to get my nails done!"  Got to love her!  Soon you will be able to see what shenanigan's we get up to in the studio.

One last GREAT BIG THANKS for purchasing the Ladies Roll Top Desk pattern!  You guys ARE THE BEST!!!  :)

Thanks for coming by y'all!

  2. It should be quite an experience! LOL! She's not really a crafter. She does crochet a bit and does some handwork on occasion, but is happiest reading a book. I must say that I get my craftiness from my dad! He could do anything! Totally amazing man!

Sorry to hear your mom is gone. However, I'm delighted to share mine. She's a sweetheart!

    Hugs to ya achairnadream!

  3. Thanks, Jim, for the video on making a round box. The punch sure does make the whole process easier. Where did you get it?

Can't wait to "meet" your mom this weekend!!! It will be fun to watch you teach her and to get her reactions on video.

  4. Jim- If you aren't just the biggest sweetheart!!!!!! I just can't believe you did a tutorial on how to make a round box for those who could not find a ready made one. I sure hope that everyone (including me) appreciates your thoughtfulness!!!!! I bet you stayed up at night worrying about this huh???? I love it. What a guy!!!! Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts. I would have used the wine boxes as I have several, but I just thought this was such a sweet gesture. Hugs to you. Your video was perfect, and loved the use of that punch. Sure gave it a real polished finish. Always thinking my man. Great job.

  6. Hi Jim, I am just about to watch your video but first I had to say how sorry I was to hear that you had lost all your hard work. Having been through this several times I have invested in a Belkin back-up power generator. If the power goes out for a second it will cover the short fall & if it goes on longer it gives you time to save your work & shut down safely. Over here you can pick up a really good one for the equivalent of $50 & do not need upgrading very often. I've had mine 6 years & it works great. Hugs,

  7. Wow. Mom coming for the weekend. That ought to be awesome fun! I bet your mom is a character! If you take her to a trip to Archivers... CALL ME! Would love to meet both of you! I am willing to put my glue and paper down long enough to drive over there. Besides, I have a pile of stuff to get to you!

  12. Sorry, my mom isn't dead, however she is in New Jersey and some people think that is worse than being dead but thanks for the sentiment. I live in Florida so I don't get to spend time with her the way I would like so I am looking forward to you and your mom. Funny my mom was not really a crafter either, she sewed really well but my dad too was the one who would make things all the time and I would watch him and learn...plus no brothers so I was his little buddy, wouldn't have it any other way. Have a wonderful and safe weekend, I will be checking in to see what the two of you are up to.

  13. You are so thoughtful! Thanks, Jim! And, I can't wait to meet Mom! She must be awesome, 'cuz she has a fabulous son. Tell her to get her nails done AFTER the craft project...crafting has destroyed many a perfect manicure! LOL

  14. Jim, when I saw your "round tableau" project, I thought of my "fave" crafting goodie as a kid....The Oatmeal container! That was back with they had cardboard lids the slipped on, just like the project box.

  18. Thank you for sharing your video... round boxes aren't the easiest thing to find, lol!!! My friend is at her trailer in the US this long weekend and she's hunting down anything round for us, but I have this feeling that she'll get tired of looking. I did tell her about the oatmeal after Queen Mary's suggestion; thank you! So now whenever in need of a round box, I will make them!!! Looking forward to meeting mom and I she'll do a fine job. I miss my Fridays with my mom while she's away. My parents live in the Czech Republic 8/9 months of the year and then come here for the remainder... so happy she finally got herself a laptop so we can hook up on Skype. Thanks again :)
