Ladies Roll Top Desk Video

Hello All,

Sorry a quick post tonight...  I'm still trying to sterilize the house before mom get's here tomorrow.  LOL!  Why am I laughing?!  It's so true!  Ok, I might as well laugh....I think the smell of Pine-Sol has gotten to me!  BTW, Thanks for all the cool comments on Mom y'all!

Anyway, the reason for the post...I was about to pack up the box with the desk in it when I thought, I never did a video of it, so I pulled it out and did one real quick.  It's going to a friend of mine in Singapore and I hope she likes it.  Also, so many of us are visual learners....ME FOR ONE...and thought this might help.

The Ladies Diary Roll Top Desk...

Thanks For Stopping By!

    1. Well Dawn, I'm glad you came out of your lurker mode and said hello! You know to be honest Dawn, I'm just so grateful you came by! Comment or not. Comments are always nice as I love to get to know you guys, but I'm appreciative that you come over to visit when you can. I hope that you can find some inspiration to take away by the time you leave. That's all that matters to me.

Thanks for taking the time to comment say hello!

      Hugs to ya!

  4. Isn't it comical how we clean like crazy before mom comes to visit...like she cannot spell the Pine-sol...like she really thinks we live like this all the time. It is not that we are truly pulling the wool over her eyes but rather we are making it comfortable for her. Have a great visit.

    1. You know Bonnie, my mom may have not taught me how to be crafty, but the one thing I have inherited from her is her eye for detail. She can spot a spider web from two rooms away! She notices everything! LOL! Not a bad trait unless you are her son! To be honest, I've been running so much this year that I have let things go and I don't really want her to know how bad it really is! She would die if she really knew how hard I was working to make this house presentable.

All kidding aside, she really doesn't care...kinda...she's just glad to be with her only son! Or at least that's what she says! :)

      Have an awesome weekend Bonnie!

  7. Thanks for the video, it looks great. It's probably above my level of making as i haven't cut any chip board before and not sure how to. I can see how much work you've put into it and the pattern. It's really lovely. Anne :)

  8. I too clean like crazy before my daughter comes over (Mom's no longer with us). Doesn't it feel good to walk around a clean house?!! Oh, for the money for a maid so I could create all the time.

Love the Roll Top. The patterns you chose are just perfect, Also love your eye for what goes together! Thanks for the video inspiration.

  9. Hi Jim, Thanks for the video, that desk is so amazing I'm afraid to even attempt it! Enjoy your visit with your Mom, I'm sure she appreciates how clean and tidy you are. (I'm the one every one cleans for before I come and quite frankly I just want to see their sweet little faces, I'm sure your mom feels the same way) You are such a good son!

  10. When my Mum comes over from England (thankfully once a year) we do our spring clean. We are like the shoemaker elves running around, but many tasks get left due to time. When she arrives, she knows we have put in extra effort - she sees how we live - she stays for six weeks! She sometimes comments, but often she is just joking. She enjoys being here, so turns her head (sometimes literally) away from the dust and webs! Your Mum knows how busy you are, and how your time is limited - she is there to see you, not your house! Have fun together - I'm sure she will enjoy crafting with you. My Mum and I did some card making this year when she was here! She wasn't very enthusiastic at first, but then got into it. We even took some supplies on vacation! Sorry to be so long winded. Julie

  11. Jim, Enjoy your weekend with Mom. She has obviously done a wonderful job of raising you. You are kind, considerate and loving enough to actually take the time to make your home comfortable for her. She has also done a great job of training you. Your craft room is well organized and always very clean. I always notice things like that. That says it all. Looking forward to meeting her on video. Enjoy and thanks for the roll top video. Helps to see the finished project up close. Enjoy.

  12. Thank you for the roll top desk video - it's lovely! Enjoy your time with your Mom - I'm looking forward to "meeting" her via your blog. Please tell her that I tried to get her one of those diamond Jubilee cups and saucers, but they had sold out - sorry. I know what you mean about the cleaning as I am trying to make our house presentable for our wedding reception on Friday. Today I tried to tidy my craft room and return all the stray papers and stamps from the dining table, but I got distracted and am now making some paper bunting instead!

  13. Yay Pine Sol! Love it cuz even if the house isn't spic and span, it smells like it is clean! Do they make air freshners? LOL.

Hope you and mom have a blast! Don't make her stay up all night in the studio.
