Religion meets technology!

Hello Gang!

Please forgive me for not blogging in awhile.  Work has been totally over the top busy and I'm running as fast as I can!  I promise.  Oh my gosh!

OK, I hope that no one from work is reading this (Pam Crowther...my boss LOL!)  as I have something to say.  Rephrase that, I have something to confess...  Today, I actually helped a 92 year old Sister (yep a religious Sister) configure an iPad that she was given for many years service to the hospital.  Thank you God for giving me at least some sort of patience!  It was a four hour...let's just say spiritual experience that included a tutorial of how to use this cunning machine!  Now,  I know I may be standing at the pearly gates trying to figure out a way to bribe my way in, but today, I should have a "Fast Pass" to the prepared room!  OK, I'm totally not trying to be sacrilegious or distasteful,  just sayin' but, Oh My Gosh, I thought that trying to get my Mom's iPad configured and to teach her how to use it was crazy...Today's offering was totally insane!  Once again thank you God for giving me some resemblance of patience and love for others.....Ahhhhh, confession is complete!

I have totally been busy creating things.  Like my normal 5 projects that seem to constantly beg my attention.  Is any one of them done?  Heck no!  Well maybe one!  But I can't show that to you either!  Poop People!  LOL!  You will soon see it, so I won't say anything about it until I am able.

Just really wanted to pop in and say hello and tell you that I truly am alive and crafting!  Thank you all for your continued support and kind emails and comments!  Thank God that you liked the layout!  I was so nervous to show you!  I truly was!

Tomorrow is another day and I hope to have something to share with you!

Have an awesome night and thank you for coming by!

  9. I think you've attained a 'free pass' for teaching the tablets twice! Maybe I don't really want one of them after all! Unless of course you'd like to teach me too. lol Just kidding. Waiting patiently to see your creations. Hugs,Jess

  10. Aah Jim, but you were already headed in that direction.
What a lovely experience for Sister to spend 4 hours with you learning about an amazing gadget. I have a hunch that she might be by for a refresher course. Just warning you.

  13. That nun is telling all her sisters how wonderful you were to her today. Please take comfort in that, not only did you help a nun, but you helped someone in need - you were there when she needed you, and for a reason! Oh boy, now I sound religious, and I am anything but!
Your Mum did a great job bringing you up to know the right thing to do...what a blessing to her!
Great big blessed hugs to you Jim!

  16. I completely understand! I taught my 83 year old mother-in-law and another 86 year old friend. It is a job that lasts a couple of months at least! You will be called upon again, take my word for it. The 86 year old asked me today if she should buy a faster computer! She's not even sure how to click or double click. I didn't know how to answer that question. The funny part. . . she wants to watch hockey online! A friend of ours is playing in Belarus, so all of the commentary is in Russsian! The pages take forever to load because they are translating to English!

  17. I love your spirit Jim, I knew when I saw your first project (that wine bottle holder) , was that a year ago... there was something very special about you! Your work "reflects" your passion! You're a special gift ( to me especially) to the crafting community! As they say in the church ..." Let Him use you son..." !

  18. Jim, I just get such a kick out of you. Not laughing at you, but with you mind you. Just attempting to teach new tech to elderly deserves a free Get-out-of-Jail-Card in my book. You know that saying "Patience is a virtue", amen brother (just sayin'). Having an 85 yr old Mother, I understand!!!!!! You deserve a medal in my book. Looking forward to sneak peeks of upcoming projects. Hugs,

  19. You are a sweetheart! Helping the elderly takes an extra serving of grace...I've been helping out my 90 year old neighbor who has macular degeneration. Three phone calls this morning within one hour...and I was heat embossing and working with mica flakes. Maybe I'll get into heaven after all. LOL

  20. Bless you Jim! I'm sure the sister is very grateful and I'm also sure that you've already got a pass for heaven when the time comes - but not for ages yet please!
